Wood Lot Program
Wood Lot Program

Clatsop Community Action (CCA), in conjunction with the Clatsop County Sheriff’ Office (CCSO), offers a Wood Lot program.

About the program
Anyone interested in the program must contact CCA in order to register to be placed on the call list/waiting list. The program runs year-round, however dates for wood pick-ups are set depending on wood availability. A small fee applies for each load of wood. The fees are given directly to the Clatsop County Sheriff Office (CCSO) in order to help defer their costs. CCA receives no funding and funds all associated work costs of managing the program for CCSO.

CCA will determine participant eligibility based on household income guidelines similar to those used for the Oregon Heat program. Clients must provide proof of household income upon registration and randomly throughout participation in the program. CCA will contact the people on the waiting list to notify them of the Wood Lot date. Anyone who has not previously participated in the program will be contacted first. Participants will need to come to the CCA office to arrange the time to pick up their wood and get their wood voucher. On the date of pick up the participant must present the Wood Lot Voucher to the work crew personnel in order to receive their wood.

Wood Lot Pick up Guidelines
Only pick-up trucks can be used to pickup and transport the wood. No trailers or cars will be allowed since these can cause unsafe or hazardous situations. All participants must provide proof of registration for the truck that is being used to pick up the wood. All participants must have the Wood Lot Voucher with them at the time of pick-up. All participants must remain in the vehicle during the entire process. The Deputy supervising the program is in charge & will decide what constitutes a full load. Only a level load will be provided. If the participant should have a small truck, the decision about whether or not the participant may have a second load will be decided by the Deputy in charge.
